For those of you that were lucky enough to make it to the 2010 MATS show in Louisville Ky. You were not let down. The organizers of the show did a great job again. This year I did not see any waits at the registration booths which is a good thing if you only have a limited amount of time to see the show. But people who come with limited time always say this was my first time at MATS and I did not know it was so big. Then the next comment from them is I will come next year for all three days.

I have not been to Mats for many years myself due to many different reasons. This year I was glad to be there to see old friends and make new ones. For those of you that know me. I can be very critical of a lot of things. I am a no holds barred kind of guy. If I do not like someone or something believe me you will be the first to know.

There is a reason MATS is three days. It takes three days to see everything. Read the rest of this entry »

Well Hi there!

Hope you all got what you wanted for Christmas. We here at Snakebite Racing are really busy getting ready for the 2010 racing season. Yes even in the winter we keep busy with the car. Right now the car is down in Cambridge Ontario getting prepped for paint. We have finally decided on the new color for the car. The new color will be !!

Oh, wait a minute. If you want to know the new color you will just have to find your way to MATS this March as we are working very hard to have the car ready for then.

Poor Gary, our body guy, is working all of his spare time on our car to have it ready. Once the car has been painted the next step will be to have all the graphics put back on. Even this will have a different flavor. Our primary sponsor this year is along with Morrison Automotive from Cambridge, Ontario and Consolidated Accounting Services from Kitchener, Ontario.

There will be a spot for you to. Just send a buck or two to Box 292 Fergus Ontario Canada N1M-2W8.

And, at MATS there will be a chance for you to sign our car for this year for a donation to help us out because without everyone’s help this just cannot happen any more. To get ready this year it is costing me $10,000 and don’t forget folks I am only a company driver. Thank goodness the Credit Union is still loaning money to me.

Anyhow after the graphics are all back on the car it will be another trip back to our shop Morrison Automotive in Cambridge, Ontario were we will be doing some improvements to the motor and chassis. With any luck we will be able to find some new headers for our car or we will have to custom bend a new set which will take time.

Thanks to my friend Kevin Wickie from K&K Racing in Stratford Ontario for chasing down all the parts we need this year. And to Sal from K&K’s shop for all the machining of the heads and intake.

Well that’s it for this month. Happy New Year Everyone.!

By the way I have found some old Drag racing videos that you all may or may not know. But for those of you that are into drag racing and know these people here is a treat for you.

So as his editor I forgot to tell Bob not to stand behind the Jet powered XTREME MACHINE jet powered drag truck to get a good video.  Oh well the hair will grow back.  Check out the end of the third video.  ( RW)
